My favorite book by Flynn, also one of my favorite books ever. Journalist Camille is trying to find a new normal after inpatient treatment for a self-harm addiction (this is a very present part of the book, please read responsibly). Her life is made worse by an assignment to investigate murders in her hometown, where she’s forced to confront longtime dysfunctional relationships with her mother, sister, and self. The final lines of this novel are the best I’ve ever read. Not an easy book to read, but a good one.
