Join Vermont authors Miciah Bay Gault, Jennifer McMahon, and Sarah Stewart Taylor for a virtual "Haunting Happy Hour" with Phoenix Books as they discuss their new books, writing characters haunted by loved ones, creating tension and suspense in their work, and many other things!

About the authors:

Miciah Bay Gault’s debut novel Goodnight Stranger was longlisted for the Center for Fiction's First Novel Prize, nominated for a Shirley Jackson Award for the Novel, and selected as a First Fiction feature by Poets & Writers. A graduate of the Syracuse MFA program, Miciah served as editor of the literary journal Hunger Mountain for nine years and was coordinator of the Vermont Book Award for five. She now teaches in the MFA in Writing & Publishing program at Vermont College of Fine Arts and lives in Montpelier.

Jennifer McMahon is the New York Times bestselling author of ten suspense novels, including The Winter People, The Invited and the upcoming The Drowning Kind (April 2021). She lives in Montpelier, Vermont with her partner, Drea, and their daughter, Zella. 

Sarah Stewart Taylor is the author of the Sweeney St. George series and the Maggie D'arcy series. She grew up on Long Island, and was educated at Middlebury College in Vermont and Trinity College, Dublin, where she studied Irish Literature. She has worked as a journalist and writing teacher and now lives with her family on a farm in Vermont where they raise sheep and grow blueberries.
