Event address:

Essex, VT 05452

** Rescheduled from July 11th **

Have you ever wondered how publishing actually works?  Are you sitting on a manuscript, but you’re not sure what to do with it next? Confused by the differences between traditional and self-publishing?

In this presentation by local publisher Onion River Press, we’ll walk you through the ins-and-outs of publishing. From self-publishing to traditional, we’ll lay out your options, including: how to query an agent, a step-by-step rundown of the editorial process, and the pros and cons of different types of publishing. We’ll take questions from the audience to address your specific concerns, and you’ll leave with a free flow-graph handout to help you better decide your next steps.

With over 20 years of experience in the publishing industry between them, Rachel Fisher and Rachel Carter offer a unique blend of editorial and printing expertise. For the past 7 years, Rachel Fisher has worked to expand Onion River Press, taking it from the basement of Phoenix Books into a hybrid press that has published over 125 titles. A newer member of the team, Rachel Carter has traditionally published three novels with HarperCollins and has worked as a college professor and freelance editor for the past 15 years.

Whether you’re a first-time author or just starting to dip your toes into the world of writing, we’re here to help you navigate the tricky world of publishing!
