Coffee Grounds for the Worm Bin
Event date:
Thursday, September 19, 2019 - 6:30pm

Join Glenn Reed to celebrate the launch of his  new collection of poetry, Coffee Grounds for the Worm Bin.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Coffee Grounds for the Worm Bin is a selection of 46 poems from the body of work written by Glenn Reed in the period from 1998-2018. Divided into seven sections, the collection opens with poems revolving around the author's early years of life and ends with those illustrating the challenges and changes in perspective of middle age. Reflections on travel experiences, bits of social commentary through recognition of people marginalized in our society, appreciation for the wisdom of indigenous people and exploration of relationships with family and others important in his life fill the in-between years. Glenn's poetry is heavily rooted in a sense of place, a strong connection to nature, and a deep appreciation for the many special people he has encountered throughout his life.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Glenn Reed currently lives in Rutland, Vermont. He works as an advocate/counselor for people with disabilities in Vermont as well as part-time for a mental health agency. He is also an occasional freelance journalist and a perpetual activist.  His ties to Vermont are strong and his parents have lived in the state since 1974.  He attended the University of Vermont where he earned a B.A. in Mass Communication, and moved on to Boston University for his M.S. He has resided in the Rutland area for six years after seventeen years on the West Coast in Seattle, Washington and Eureka, California.
