There’s a new set of 3Rs for our kids – respect, responsibility, and resilience – that will better prepare them for life in the real world. Join Vicki Hoefle, founder of the Parenting On Track™ program and author of the new book Duck Tape Parenting, A Less is More Approach to Raising Respectful, Responsible and Resilient Kids, for a one-hour presentation on becoming a “Duct Tape Parent”. This counter-intuitive – yet much more effective than a quick-fix – approach is for parents to sit on their hands, stay on the sidelines, even if duct tape is required, so that the kids step up and take charge of their own lives.
Vicki will give parents a new perspective on what it means to be effective, engaged parents and to enable kids to develop confidence through solving their own problems. She won’t talk about the latest popular parenting strategy, but rather about a relationship-based guide to span all ages and stages of development. She’s witty, straight shooting and happy to work with frustrated parents everywhere who are ready to raise confident, capable children to go out in the world.
In this presentation, Vicki will identify some of the biggest obstacles faced by parents and help them recognize how to clear away what is not working and discover tools that bring the lasting change that parents are looking for. The Duct Tape approach challenges parents to change their way of thinking toward long-term solutions, give their children room to grow, and sit back and watch the magic unfold.
If you’ve never seen Vicki in person before, you’re in for a treat! There will be plenty of time for questions and autographs of her new book.
