An Afternoon of Poetry with Daniel Lusk and Patricia Fargnoli

Event date:
Sunday, April 29, 2018 - 3:00pm

Join us for an afternoon of poetry with Daniel Lusk and Patricia Fargnoli.

ABOUT THE SHOWER SCENE FROM HAMLET AND DANIEL LUSK:  In The Shower Scene from Hamlet, the poet is at his mature best, creating portraits and literary collages from the lives of artists, eccentrics, and infamous public figures that ricochet across a millennium of the world’s art and cultural history. The poet blends extraordinary facts and rumors about personalities long dead with intimate glimpses of his own peripatetic past for the enjoyment of readers.

The Shower Scene from Hamlet is Daniel Lusk’s sixth full-length poetry collection. Other books include The Vermeer Suite (art and poetry), Lake Studies: Meditation on Lake Champlain with a companion audiobook, The Inland Sea, a memoir, Girls I Never Married, three poetry chapbooks, a novel, and Homemade Poems: A Handbook for Teaching Poetry Writing. A former syndicated commentator on books for NPR and well-known for his teaching, Daniel Lusk has been a Visiting Poet at the Frost Place in Franconia, N.H.; Stranmillis University College-Queens, Belfast, N.I.; Juniata College, Huntingdon, PA; Eigse Carlow Arts Festival, County Cork, Ireland; and Haystack School for Crafts, Deer Isle, ME. As a Poet-in-the-Schools, he taught children and teachers in more than 100 schools across the U.S. He has been a Resident Fellow at Yaddo and the MacDowell Colony and his poetry has been published widely in literary journals and anthologies, among them Poetry, Massachusetts Review, New Letters, Poetry Ireland, Prairie Schooner, The Iowa Review, The Chariton Review, North American Review, Markings (Scotland), Nimrod International Journal, The Café Review, Off the Coast, and 180 More: Extraordinary Poems for Every Day (Billy Collins, Ed.).
