This belongs on my favorites shelf. I devoured this book in 1 sitting. All the turbulence of high school relationships are at play here, with a wonderful underlying message of authenticity to yourself and your needs above what others want or expect from you. A super sweet sapphic love story that warmed my heart.

A story about cooking, finding your passions, trying new things, and falling in love. A passionate writer-to-be accidentally falls in love with the culinary arts (and with one of the cooks) while hunting for an editorial job. A love story for fans of Heartstopper and a chef’s tale for those who love to cook. I devoured every last crumb of this heartwarming meal of a book.

From the author of the bestselling Fullmetal Alchemist series comes a new action-fantasy adventure. I’ve been following this series since the first chapter and I’m hooked. Yuru’s life is turned on its head when strangers attack his village. He quickly realizes there are deeply-held secrets about himself and his sister Asa that his family never told him, and a world beyond his village he never knew existed…

A heartbreaking yet hopeful deep-dive into depression, bulimia nervosa, and family ties. This is a heavy exploration of recovery that focuses on eating disorders and the power of self-acceptance, self-love and healing. Trigger Warning: eating disorders.

Sometimes a family can be an android inventor, a neurotic roomba, a sociopathic nurse droid, and an orphaned human. A sweet, quirky found-family story about belonging and finding your own purpose beyond the “factory settings”. This has all the humor, emotion, and fantastic characters you expect from T. J. Klune. Easily one of my favorite reads (so far) of 2023.

Darkly funny and written in a journal-like format, this is a fast read for anyone who has worked an infuriatingly corporate 9-5 job. The witty narrations reminded me of a morbidly humorous Monty Python skit. I had a blast with this one!
