Bardugo goes all out in her first adult novel. She brings all the power and charm from her young adult books into a much more mature setting, and the result is captivating. Dark, twisting, and masterfully written, this is a perfect read for any fantasy lovers!
Isabel practically grew up in Phoenix Books. She has many happy memories of trips to the store after school and was constantly badgering her parents to buy her a new stack of books with every visit. She's particularly drawn to reading every-and-all things fantasy and loves immersing herself in magical worlds. She is currently working towards a degree in Cognitive and Linguistic Sciences from Wellesley College. In her freetime she enjoys writing poetry, making music, and staying up too late reading.
How would you live your life if you knew the exact date of your death? Told from the perspective of four siblings who all grapple with-- and eventually succumb to-- their ever looming death dates, this story tackles family relations, love, loss, and the morality of knowing one's own fate.
This is one of my all time favorite books. Harrow's writing is beautiful and magical; I'm sucked into the story every time I read it. This is a story of loss and betrayal, but also love and hope. It's also partially set in Vermont! It's amazing <3 <3 <3
This book is So. Much. Fun! El is a super powerful and super sarcastic student at the Scholomance, a school for the young and magical (imagine Hogwarts, but without professors, and with a multitude of monsters trying to kill you all the time). El is mostly a loner, until she forms an unlikely friendship with the Scholomance's golden-boy... A dark and exciting read!
This is my favorite young adult series! Follow this multi-talented and rag-tag group of teenage criminals as they attempt to pull off a dangerous and impossible (or is it??) heist. I loved hearing from each character's perspective and I fell in love with the group dynamic!
