Written by a Vermont author. Check! Impressive world building, along with intriguing folklore within different cultures. Check! A magical school. Check! If this hits every checkpoint in your list (as it did on mine), I highly recommend this series with every fiber of my being! And I cannot get over the magic. Oh my goodness, the magic! The magic system itself is so original and intriguing. so much so that I devoured this book in a single day! And I continue to steamroll through the rest of the series. I cannot recommend this series enough.

So when she takes hold of the bookshop for a friend, Maggie does everything in her power to give what the people want and need. And that is the freedom to read anything and everything that if of this century. This is a book for those who love some romance but with a bigger slice of modern feminism and wonderful character development.

What a refreshing tale where the human protagonist understands and plays the games of Fae. Jude is a force not to be reckoned with and her unwavering strength in the face of immortal magical beings within the confines of her own mortal powerless body is what drives you to pick up the next page. I highly recommend this book and series!

This is such a cute story about being helplessly in love and scrumptious misunderstandings. The art is absolutely gorgeous and everyone is named after cheese (my favorite food group). This is a book that makes you hungry for more of their love!

All the Sinners Bleed  is a powerful, gritty crime thriller, and so much more, tackling radical and religious tensions head on. With Cosby's exceptional writing I was instantly pulled into the world of Charon County, VA and that of the Titus Crown, the town's newly elected, and first Black, sheriff.  While this was a bit darker that what I usually, it was well worth it!

Something More is a YA romance read with authentic characters thrust into the high school experience. The MC, Jessie, is an autistic Palestinian-Canadian girl who has a special interest in all things from the 90s and the as a result, this contemporary novel had a particularly distinct 90s feel to it. The author, Jackie Khalilieh, brings everyone in Jessie's social circle together by way of nuanced obstacles and relationships with each other as they navigate crushes, betrayals, and newfound maturity. Something More is a fun read with excellent representation full of a ton of awkward moments and the intensity of a first crush.
