This book offers an analysis of paratextual infrastructures in editions of Ovid's Metamorphoses and shows how paratexts functioned as important instruments for publishers and commentators to influence readers of this ancient text.
John Tholen studied Classics and Book History, and obtained a Ph.D. degree at Utrecht University (2019) with his research on early modern Ovidian paratexts. He currently works as the curator of special collections at Rotterdam Public Library.
