When Otter falls in love with the "wrong" animal, his family tells him it can never be. Torn between how he feels and how he's "supposed" to be, Otter has to decide whether to listen to his heart or deny it. A great story about the power of love and the courage to be yourself. It made me cry!

Exclusive Content:  Click here to read an exclusive short story from A's life by David Levithan.

What might be the most surprising thing about Every Day is what a great read it is, what a well-told story.  Why would this be surprising?  Because Every Day
follows a character named A who wakes up in a different body every
day.  This leads to a story that explores issues of identity,
attachment, and the nature of love - and somehow David Levithan manages
to intelligently explore all of these things without any of them
overpowering a simple (but never really simple) story of people meeting
eachother, falling in love, and learning that first impressions never
tell the whole story.

As with all good dystopian novels, this story bears some striking similarities to aspects of our culture. In a world where women have no rights and religious fanatics control the power, Offred fights to maintain her identity, her dignity, and her memories. This book is as believable now as it was in the 1980's.

It's been over ten years since 9/11. Some of us have nearly fogotten--or were too young to remember. Others remember all too well... Whichever you are, David Levithan's book is a must-read. Sensitive yet real, Levithan follows three teens in New York City as they learn to deal with the aftermath of their crumbling world. He manages to honor the sacrifices, grieve the losses, and explore the emotions that touched so many without being sensationalistic.
